Loro - 2019–Present
Loro brand
Overview
Back in 2019 I was eager to enhance my branding skills and create a brand that was punchy, passionate, and playful. A brand that would bring people to life. This passion led to the inception of Loro.
Inspiration
Inspiration for the brand came from the work of a close friend Teo Georgiev. While studying in South America Teo produced a series of illustration depicting the local wildlife. In this series was a rufous-bellied thrush which I proudly hang on my wall.
This print embodies joy for me. The rich colour palette lifted my spirit in the winter months, reminding me of the fiesta of summer. I remixed Teo’s work to create Loro, a teasingly excited parrot with a cheeky smile and an open gesture.
Style guide
Loro served as a basis for the style guide which includes details of typography, colour palette, and a 130 piece iconography set.
T-shirts
What brand is complete without printing a t-shirt? The t-shirts have been printed using environmentally friendly inks, and printed on recycled cotton t-shirts to reflect the brands values.
Tapestry
The tapestry is a special one. Started by my grandmother then completed by me. It was a labour of love through the hard months of COVID.
